One of my favorite quotes is - You are entitled to your own Opinion, but not your own set of Facts! It sounds simple but it is a very powerful reminder to get the facts, the data - the complete set of data. I have found that a vast majority of disagreements are resolved by getting all the data to everyone involved.

How do you create a culture of Accountability?

My Vistage Group recently had a presentation from former USAF Pilot Robert Teschner - Call sign CUJO. He talked to us about the importance of Debriefing as a path to Accountability. He described to us his experience as a Fighter Pilot where they debrief after every mission. Their lives depend on being Open and Honest about what when well and what didn't. Too often in business we only debrief when things don't go well and we want to hold someone accountable.

Recently, I talked about having a Personal Strategic Plan. Today I thought I would get your help with my accountability. One of my goals is to get healthier. My KPI is how many steps I walk. I have found if you can't measure something, you don't understand it.
