Don't Guess, Test! Ask your customers. Ask your employees. Do a Beta test, get feedback, take a cycle of learning. Use Key Accounts or a Customer Council. Define success ahead of time. What will the key metrics look like? Key Benefit - you don't have to be right. Use the process to develop the right answer/approach. Get customer buy-in at the same time. They help design the right answer.

We talked about focusing our resources and dollars on the Top 20% to get to know our Customers better, the importance of segmenting our customers and servicing them differently with a goal to raise profits and retain profitable customers. Now, let's look at the reverse - the 80% of our customers that generate only 20% of our sales.
